Apart from Tanjung Setapa, another MOLF port in Teluk Ramunia will also be dedicated to serve the needs of Project RAPID. Together, both ports are estimated to handle around four million tonnes of cargo over the next three years.
The arrival of the cargo on Saturday was marked with a ceremony held at the port. Present at the event were PETRONAS Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd, Ir Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing and Project Manager of Toyo Engineering Corporation, Takashi Iguchi.
PIC is PETRONAS’ largest green-field downstream undertaking in Malaysia. Apart from RAPID, PIC involves the development of six associated facilities namely the Pengerang Cogeneration Plant, Regasification Terminal, Air Separation Unit, Raw Water Supply Project, the Pengerang Deepwater Terminal 2 as well as Centralisedand Shared Utilities and Facilities.
